Romani is a Tanzanian national with over 40 years of international and in country business experience. Prior to joining Shanta in 2006, Romani spent over 25 years with the United Nations based in Geneva where his responsibility included eastern Africa. Romani is Chairman of Shanta Gold's only operating company – Shanta Mining Company Limited (SMCL).

Eric Zurrin has 15 years’ experience in mining and investment banking, previously with UBS Investment Bank in London. Eric re-joins Shanta having previously worked across a range of roles with Shanta including as interim CFO in 2015/2016 leading the financial restructuring and as a Commercial Analyst advising the former CEO in 2013. Eric is a Canadian national and has worked and lived in North America, the UK, Asia and Africa. Eric completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) in Canada.

Luke is a mining investor with a background in Mergers & Acquisitions. He was formally a member of UBS Investment Bank's Corporate Finance team based on London. Luke began his career as a management consultant with Accenture where he specialised in post-acquisition integration and cost reduction strategies. Luke has served on the Board on number of junior mining companies including Kincora Copper and REBgold prior to its merger with Aquila Resources. Luke has lived and worked in China, Hong Kong, Outer Mongolia and Myanmar. He is currently a resident of Tanzania.Luke is a mining investor with a background in Mergers & Acquisitions. Honest Mrema is a mining engineer with over 20 years’ experience in open pit and underground operations. Honest has held senior management and technical roles with Endeavour Mining (Mali), Resolute Mining (Mali), Pan Australian Resources (Laos – SE Asia), Barrick Gold (Tanzania), Placer Dome (Tanzania) and Anglo American (Tanzania). Honest has an honors BSc degree in Mining Engineering from University of Zambia, School of Mines, is a member of Tanzania Engineers Registration Board and Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
General Manager of Singida
Philbert Rweyemamu is a Tanzanian national with 38 years of mining industry knowledge gained in Tanzania, South Africa and Botswana in gold and diamond operations including running and closing mines, fostering community and government relations as well as developing coexistence between Artisanal and Small-scale Miners and Mine operators. Philbert holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from Camborne School of Mines and Master of Science (Mining Engineering- Geomechanics) from University of Exeter, England.
Dr Menrad Kambewe
Social Development and Sustainability
Dr Kambewe is a Tanzanian national and a trained medical doctor. He has studied in Tanzania, South Africa and also Australia completing his Masters in Science in Occupational Health & Safety at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Dr Kambewe has worked in Tanzania since 1996 as a medical doctor for various companies and agencies including International SOS and African Barrick Gold as Superintendent in Occupational Health & Safety. Dr Kambewe currently leads the role of Group Sustainability, Occupational Health and Community Relations Manager for the New Luika Gold Mine.
Head of Country Affairs
Calvin Mlingi is a Tanzanian national, trained lawyer and Human Resources professional with 10 years’ experience across a range of sectors including commodity trading, energy and mining. Prior to joining Shanta Mining, Calvin held roles with Pivotech Co.ltd and Export Trading Group. Calvin has an LL.B honours degree from the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law and is also a board member of the Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE).
